Apple and Pear Crisps

Updated: May 7, 2020

Apple and pear crisps

If you have decided to quit sugar then these crispy treats are perfect for munching on instead of sweets!

I love them with a full fat Greek yoghurt dip with a swirl of Raspberry coulis.

Or you could have them with Blue or goat's cheese as a more savoury snack at the end of a meal.

They are super easy to make, (but very easy to burn!) They have a chewy consistency, but can be crisped up if you leave them on a very low heart for an hour.

I like them with a bit of a chewiness to them, makes you take your time eating them!

I've used apples and pears and both work a treat.

INGREDIENTS

1 Apple (preferably Organic)

1 Pear (preferably Organic)

2 Tablespoons Full Fat Plain Greek Yoghurt

4 Raspberrys

1 knob of butter

1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon

METHOD

Wash and slice the apple and pear. I use a mandoline for jobs like this but you can just use a sharp knife.

Cut into as thin slices as you can and pop out any pips.

Put the butter on to the baking tray and place in the oven to melt.

When melted take the tray out the oven and, scatter the apple & pear slices on a baking tray and sprinkle with cinnamon.

Toss the slices to make sure they are all covered in evenly in butter and the cinnamon.

Spread on to the baking tray, making sure there are no slices overlapping, then bake at 170 for 30 mins, turning midway.

Keep an eye on them, as the cooking time will vary depending on the thickness of the slices and it's easy to burn them!

Press the raspberry's through a sieve to make a coulee and swirl into the Greek yoghurt.

Once the crisps are cooked, leave aside to cool then enjoy!
