Buttery Apple and Halloumi Stack

Get yourself some squeaky sugar free scrumptiousness!

This is one of my favourite desserts or mid morning treats. It's really easy to make and combines the crunchy texture of the sliced apple with the wonderfully squeaky texture of my favourite cheese - halloumi!

Apple and haloumi stack

And once you add in the natural caramelisation you get from both butter and the apple juices, well, I can't do it justice here, why don't you just try it for yourself!

This is a great go to snack that works morning, noon and evening, and is a simple, tasty recipe here from my 21 Day Sugar Detox Program.

Letting yourself get hungry can be fatal when it comes to maintaining any diet.

There is a saying that ‘Pretty much every diet works, it’s just the people doing it that don’t!'

There’s certainly some truth to that, and the main thing I have found is that maintaining ‘control’ is the biggest winner.

If you get hungry, you’ll grab whatever is nearby, but if you plan ahead and have healthy snacks to hand, then you are already in a winning position!

So try not to let more than three hours pass without eating, so that means breakfast, mid morning snack, lunch, mid afternoon snack and finally your evening meal.

Don’t let the munchies ruin all your hard work!

Ingredients

2 x green apples (pref Granny Smith)

8 x halloumi slices.

Knob of butter.

Two tbsp roughly chopped walnuts.

Cinnamon.

Method

Core the apples and slice.

Coat the apple slices in cinnamon.

Heat the butter in a frying pan, add the apple slices and halloumi to the pan.

As the halloumi and apple slices brown add the walnuts to the pan and toast lightly.

Stack the halloumi and apples and sprinkle with the toasted walnuts and serve.
